Designing the Information Architecture is the most intriguing and exciting part of the design process. From the business requirements, this is where the steps start to take shape. It evolves over the design process and is shared with the whole team. As it evolves, design chops are integrated that helps visualize what is being created. At times, a draft of these are printed and placed on the wall so that the whole team can discuss the flow, design and the technicalities. These are quite big and typically cover a wall!
It is “best practice” to not cross lines in user-flows. The users’ minds cannot follow crossed lines. As you can see in my information architecture below, NONE of the lines cross!
