To increase user engagement, landing pages were utilized however, American Express was using legacy, static landing pages which did not seem to attract users in making purchases. Users simply viewed the advertising and navigated to other pages using the navigation menu. We wanted to attract users by providing suggestions. During the holidays, users wanted to travel…so why not provide suggestions that users would purchased during their travels?
Below are just a few landing pages which were interactive. The “+” icons are prominent enough to strike the users curiosity. When users hovered over the icons, a card would pop-up over the icon displaying a possible item users would purchase. This in turn increased user engagement and became a well-used tool in the years to come.
