FOX TV JAPAN (Amu Mobile)
Produced in 2005. Repeat; 2005. Amu Mobile was the first company which I worked with in the IT industry. There is a long story on how I got into this company but on a quick note, I was found by some links i made using Flash Lite (Macromedia back then before Adobe bought them). I was playing around with animation and Japanese mobile devices back in 2003 and created some animated screensavers for Japanese mobile devices. These links eventually made it to Amu Mobile.
Now, one of Amu Mobile’s biggest client was FOX TV Japan and they required a company that could create such screensavers and customized mobile menus (please ask me in-person for what these were in detail). Since I had worked with Flash Lite (Actionscript 1.5) as a hobby, Fox TV Japan hired Amu Mobile to hire me. They sent my team images of hit TV shows such as “Prison Break” “Simple Life” and “24”. At this time in 2005, there were only 10 Japanese mobile devices shipped with Flash Lite. They all had different menus items , screen colors, and screen dimensions for each device manufacturer (Fujitsu, Sony, etc). I had to ensure that each TV show images and assets complimented each Japanese mobile device. Not only did I create these for FOX TV Japan, but also MTV Japan and National Geographic Japan.
Amu Mobile closed as one of my best bosses in the whole universe passed away from heart failure. He was like a father to me in Japan. 🙁
Yes, I have been designing for mobile devices BEFORE the first Google phone and iPhone was ever released.
